THE GREAT WARREN BUFFETT

There was a one hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the second
richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity. Here are some very
interesting aspects of his life:
1.) He bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he
started too late!

2.) He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering
newspapers.

3.) He still lives in the same small 3 bedroom house in mid-town Omaha,
that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has
everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a
fence.

4.) He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or
security people around him.

5.) He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's
largest private jet company.

6.) His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies. He writes only
one letter each year to the CEOs of these companies, giving them goals
for the year. He never holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis.

7.) He has given his CEO's only two rules. Rule number 1: do not lose
any of your share holder's money. Rule number 2: Do not forget rule
number 1.

8.) He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His past time
after he gets home is to make himself some pop corn and watch
television.

9.) Bill Gates, the world's richest man met him for the first time only
5 years ago. Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with
Warren Buffet. So he had scheduled his meeting only for half hour. But
when Gates met him, the meeting lasted for ten hours and Bill Gates
became a devotee of Warren Buffet.

10.) Warren Buffet does not carry a cell phone, nor has a computer on
his desk.

11.) His advice to young people: Stay away from credit cards and invest
in yourself.

How to know if management of a company is good?

*check out if the CEO of the company is from iit/iim (i am not telling that other companies are bad in management) ceo from iit/iim is a +ve.
*find out who are the auditors..if the company books are audited by the best auditors its a +
*see if the management deliver what they say about future and their guidance.
*try sending e-mail/call them asking about future prospects and such thing, most of the well managed company will have investors relation.(dont ask about what stock price they expect or wat eps they expect in future, asking about business is a good way to start with)
*check if the company is following a single way of auditing (u can find this in auditor's report)
*check if the promotor are rewarding the shareholders or rewarding themself by giving themself rights or warrants at a lower price compared to market.
*see if the company eps is growing at consistant rate yoy.

***these are some of the ways u can find out about the management quality

we need to look closely at the accounting policies see if the company is maintaining the same policies yoy. some companies change the way they account to manupulate the profit/loss. this change in accounting policies will be given in the auditor's report clearly..so we can see wat the company is doing. always see if the auditors are the best in the field..

for example if there is any accounting change by the company the auditor's report will say that the profit will be less if the normal accounting was done and profit is higher due to change in accounting policy

Pivot Point Trading - Intraday

You would have often head market analysts talking about an equity price nearing a certain support or resistance level, each of which is important because it represents a point at which a major price movement is expected to occur. But how do these analysts and professional traders come up with these so-called levels?
One of the most common methods is using Pivot Points.
The reason pivot point trading is so popular is that pivot points are predictive as opposed to lagging. We use historical information of the previous day to calculate potential turning points for the day we are about to trade (present day).

Because so many traders follow pivot points you will often find that the market actually reacts at these levels and THIS will give us an opportunity to place our trade.

How to Calculate Pivot Points?

There are several different methods for calculating pivot points, the most common of which is the five-point system.
This system uses the previous day's high, low and close, along with two support levels and two resistance levels (totaling five price points) to derive a Pivot Point.

The equations are as follows:
Resistance 2 = Pivot + (R1 - S1)
Resistance 1 = 2 * Pivot - Low
Pivot Point = ( High + Close + Low )/3
Support 1 = 2 * Pivot - High
Support 2 = Pivot - (R1 - S1)

As you can see from the above formula, just by having the previous days high, low and close you eventually finish up with 5points, 2resistance levels, 2support levels and the actual pivot point. If the market opens above the Pivot Point then the bias for the day is for long trades as long as price remains above the Pivot Point.

The three most important Pivot Points are R1, S1 and the actual pivot point. The general idea behind trading pivot points is to look for a break of R1.
By the time the market reaches R2 the market will already be overbought and these levels should be used for exits rather than entries.

A perfect set up would be for the market to open above the pivot level and then stall slightly at R1 then go on to R2.
You would enter on a break of R1 with a target of R2 and if the market was really strong close half at R2.

Advanced Method

A more advanced method is to use the cross of two moving averages as a confirmation of a breakout.
You can even use combinations of indicators to help you make a decision.
